A handcrafted ceramic altar dedicated to the goddess Fauna.

Fauna is the Roman goddess of fertility, forests, fields and herds. She is often regarded as the feminine counterpart or consort of Faunus.

She is associated with prophecy and fertility, and is believed to be a guardian of the wild and untamed. Fauna is also known as a goddess of visions and dreams, sending guidance through prophecy and inner revelation.

Although sources vary in describing the relationship between Faunus and Fauna as husband and wife, siblings or mother and daughter, Roman mythology generally presents them as complementary forces.
